The Tale of the Navigator is an excellent teaching tool for groups that are beginning to progress and would like to focus on style, tone and mood. Rhythmic patterns drive the piece with the smallest unit being a semiquaver. Cello and Bass need to be aware of timing and not race. This is one of those pieces that players enjoy mastering - it requires good bowing and attention to rhythm.
